- Go to Setup > Payment Methods
- Click on Configure on the Credit Card payment option
- You can now choose to default the card processing fee to the guest by toggling on Card Processing Fee Defaulted to Guest
- This means the tick box for card processing fee will be selected automatically upon payment, however guests can un-select it if they wish to
- If you’d like to force the card processing fee to guests, then toggle on Card Processing Fee Mandatory to Guest
- This means the guests don’t have a choice of not paying it; it’ll be defaulted to the guest and greyed out upon payment
- Choose the % you’d like your guests to cover and add it into the Guest Card Fee Percentage field
- *The industry average is 3% and this is what is defaulted on Emma, however you can choose to make it higher or lower
*This fee helps you cover Stripe fees that you are charged on each transaction (for example if a guest donates £10, you will be charged a Stripe fee on this transaction. If the guest covers the card processing fee of 3% and pays £10.30 then the Stripe fee is taken from £10.30 and you will most likely still take away £10 of that donation depending on the fees that Stripe charges you)
- If you want each guest to pay a fixed value of card processing fee regardless of what their payment amount is, you can add this into the Guest Card Fee Fixed Value field
- To change the default card processing fee sentence, type your own into the Guest Card Fee Custom Sentence field
- Click Save
