# Enabling pre-authorisation for card payment processing

## You can ask your guests to pre-authorise their cards upon signing up to your event or when they make their first bid on an auction item, which will enable you to collect any outstanding payments as soon as the event finishes. Simply follow these steps.

Go to **Setup** \> **Payment Methods**

- Click on **Configure** on the Credit Card payment option
- \*You can now choose when you want your guests to pre-auth their cards: 
    - On registration/signing up to your event toggle on **Card Pre Auth Required on Registration**
    - On making their first bid on an auction item toggle on **Card Pre Auth Required on Bid**

*\*Please note you can only have one or the other option, you won’t be able to ask for pre-auth on both registration and first bid*

- For both options you can also change the default wording tor the sentence the guests see when pre-authorising their card, simply add the text into the text box below the toggle
- Click **Save**
